What is a "puzzle box"?

A "puzzle box" is originally a box whose opening mechanism is concealed in order to protect its contents. A well-known example is the Japanese Himitsu Bako (literally "secret box") which was used to protect small valuable objects.

Today, puzzle boxes are games that are part of the large family of puzzles. The goal is to offer a challenge to the player who will try to open the box by solving puzzles throughout the sequence that separates him from the opening.

At Archimaze Puzzle, we go even further by offering scripted puzzle boxes. In fact, they are closer to the escape game (immersive life-size game whose goal is to escape from a room or evolve in a scenario by solving puzzles). Thus, all our creations begin with a letter, which sets the player up for their adventure, and it is strongly recommended to use the playlist provided to increase immersion in the game.

Can I reset the box after solving it?

Yes! Generally speaking, a puzzle is only considered solved when it has been returned to its original state, as this demonstrates that you have understood the steps that led you to solve it.

I'm not used to this kind of puzzle and I've never done an escape room. Won't it be too difficult for me?

We've got you covered: your puzzle comes with instructions, including a QR Code to take you to a help page. If you get stuck, you can find clues to help you continue your adventure.

Although some of the riddles may seem daunting, all our puzzles are accessible and require no special skills to solve.

Each of our products is tested by a panel of gamers, some experts, others novices. We make sure that each element is solved at least once without any help during the test phase.

As a last resort, you can always contact us directly using the contact form at the bottom of this page.

Why only produce limited series?

We want to preserve the high-end character of our creations and this also includes the "collector" aspect.

Furthermore, our products are too complex to be manufactured industrially on a large scale. Each element must be meticulously assembled by hand to ensure the proper functioning of each mechanism. For example, a quarter turn of a screw more or less can make the resolution easier or impossible.

Is it necessary to know how to play chess to solve the "Chess Castle"?

No, knowing how to play chess is not necessary, but it is a plus that will provide a better playing experience at a specific time.

Can I add a message or include a personal item in the box to make it a gift?

Yes! We can add personalisation on request. For a personal message, please contact us so that we can find the best solution (paper, engraving on the box, etc.).

If you wish to add a small item inside, please contact us so that we can confirm that it will fit in the final compartment, and then send it to us!

Est-il possible de jouer à plusieurs ?

Oui, il est possible de jouer à plusieurs, cela. été testé. Nous recommandons un maximum de 3 joueurs.
